Engagement Portraits at independence grove Libertyville Illinois

By admin - Posted on 13 May 2009

Today I created the engagement portrait photography session at the independence grove in Libertyville Illinois. We met up with Michelle, Dan and Tinkerbell (that is the super cute puppy in the photographs) for a beautiful spring stroll through the amazingly well kept garden and pond area. We stopped along the way of our walk around, for photos at the cattails, along the edge of the pond on the rocks, and through the arms of the trees. It was an amazing and peaceful day, with a gentle wind.

Question for my readers --- Does anyone know of a similar park or nice walking area in Bridgeport Chicago (60608) area? Or anywhere near the south Chicago suburbs? We have become quite familiar with the northern Chicago suburbs and now it is time to learn more about the south Chicago area, since we are opening our new studio in Chicago on June 1st. Our newest “Plum Tree Studio” will cater to Bridgeport, Chicago, Mckinley Park, Back of the yards, Little Village, Greek Town, Little Italy, China Town, Ukranian Village, Wicker Park, Lincoln Park, Goose Island, Uptown, Cicero, Berwyn, North Riverside, Brookfield, Lyons, La Grange, Westmont, Downer’s Grove, Naperville, Willowbrook, Oak Brook, Roselle, Northlake, Oak Lawn, Chicago Ridge, Palos Hills, Worth, Everygreen Park, Tinley Park, Orland Park, Romeoville, Joliet, Aurora, Batavia, Warrenville, Carol Stream, Lansing, Oswego, Mmokena, Matteson, Oak Forest, Palos Heights, Hazel Crest, Justice, Hinsdale, Berwyn, and all surrounding Chicago suburbs.

Pet Photography by Miss Agnes the photographer

By admin - Posted on 22 March 2009

Pet Photography for Chicago and Chicago Area Suburbs now available by Plum Tree Studio Photographer and owner Miss Agnes. At Plum Tree Studio we have professionally photographed over 130 dogs and dozens of cats, birds, and other assorted wild life in the past year alone! Not many other studio’s out there have so much experience working with your best friend. It takes a special type of photographer to keep everyone’s attention on the camera and the dogs are hard to focus sometimes too. (That was a joke!) I specialize in barking, meowing, sleeking, and making other various and assorted noises to get that cute little head tilt on your canine. Arf!

Some of my clients have said I should be the dog whisperer due to my extensive patience with animals, my firm but gentle voice, and my open heart. Everyone with four legs (and three or two legs also) is welcome in our studio, but your human caregiver must be present. Pet portraits are only available by appointment. We service lake county, cook county, dupage county, mchenry county, racine county, and milwaukee county.

Do you have a wedding coming up and need a wedding photographer willing to take pictures of you and your best friend? Look no further!

Family Portrait Through The Snow Storm

By admin - Posted on 09 January 2009

Over the past few days the snow has fallen down upon Illinois. With inches inches upon inches covering the land in white powder as far as the eye could see. Roads were backed up. Accidents all along the highways. Yet, this afternoon our photographers braved the storm in the spirit of photography. "Stop being so melodramatic?" Ohh just let me have my moment! The storm raged on, through the night and into the morning. But the family portrait must go on!

That being said, our photographer finally arrived to the home of a family in Vernon Hills Illinois. Our photographer came on site with equipment, including lighting set up and professional backdrops. Phil, Laura, Sam, and Justin all helped with moving around furniture and setting up the backdrop. With muscle all around the set up and take down time went from 45 minutes for the photographer to mearly 20 minutes for everyone.

Thanks everyone! Look forward to seeing you again at your next family portrait -- only this time with brother number 3 home from college. Now you can show him was he was missing!!!

Below are a few images from the session.

Pet Potraits Bucky

By admin - Posted on 07 December 2008

This evening we had a Pet Portrait with Calvin, Janet and "Bucky" from Grayslake. Our gorgeous red headed friend (below) was 70 pounds of pure muscle and a ton of love and energy. He bounded around the studio, exploring everything he could. Sniff sniff, what's that? And that? And ohh ohh that too? What is it?!?!? His young nose was not yet used to the "other dog" smells in this world, and as we all know Plum Tree Studio is frequently visited by four legged buddies ready to smile for their annual portraits.

As soon as his care givers sat down for their portraits, he promptly joined them on the floor (obviously ready for his evening tummy rub). To get his attention I did my usual "critter sounds" as I like to call them -- a few cat meows, some like arfs, then a bit of the quack quack, and finally closing with a general squeel. Buckey responded really well to the "go to the car?" sentence (since we all love car rides, photographer included!). After a few photos, Bucky realized that no real critters were actually in my throat and thus was bored of me. Overall, it was a great session for Bucky and his adopted parents! Woof Woof Buckey!

Roxie

By admin - Posted on 20 November 2008

Meet Roxie! She is a 1.5 year old boxer lab mix with a wonderfully inquisitive nature. From the moment she stepped into the studio she was off with nose to sniff every corner and every scent. A little skiddish at first, normal for a pound puppy, she quickly warmed up to a friendly face. We played for a bit on the floor until she got comfortable with me and my camera. The lights didn't bother her at all, as long as there were treats nearby. Nom nom nom she said as she nibbled on a scooby snack. Her human mommy picked her from the dog shelter and you could feel the love Roxie gave back! For a puppy, she was amazingly well behaved. Nothing was broken, knocked over, yellowed or torn. She listened when she got a command, even if a little delayed. Her heart was warm and loving and she was a wonderful little girl to have in the studio. Look forward to having the family back in soon for a family portrait.
